The shooting sports community has grown in how involved women have become. According to cbsnews.com "Guns and Gardens" states that in the last decade, there has been nearly a 70% increase in women who have taken up shooting. There are a few different reasons as to why women have chose to become involved. The more common reason being self-defense purposes.

Most often it is the male of the family who owns all of the guns and would defend the home. That same guy is most likely the one carrying as a responsible armed citizen. So what happens when he is not around? What is she going to do in the event of a home invasion or being approached while walking to her car after work?

Men- It is simply not enough to take your significant other to the range a few times to shoot everything in your arsenal. This also can be overwhelming and frustrating for her to shoot your guns in an indoor/outdoor public range. When it comes to effective learning with firearms, women seem to respond the best in a controlled classroom and professional envrionment.

Women- Learning to shoot may be intimidating to some of you. You may have never even held a firearm in your life. Your signifcant other may not be the one you want teaching you. Don't worry, you aren't the only one who feels this way about it! This is where professional training comes into play and pays off big time. If you fall under this category, I highly suggest for you to come take our H5:Essentials class.

In our last Essentials class, we had 6 women and 4 men. Out of the 6 women there were 4 who have never shot before. In the beginning they were a little nervous but by the end of the class they were loading their own magazines, applying proper marksmanship fundamentals, and had nothing but smiles on their faces.

Guys, don't let the security of your family ride soley on your shoulders.

Gals, don't feel that you are alone in being nervous to enter the shooting sports community. There are plenty of organizations out there to help you get the training you need. Especially if you are uncomfortable by learning from a friend or significant other.

Let's help to make women force multipliers and not victims!
