HANDGUN:REACTIVE

 

Descripition:

 

The Reactive Handgun course is a defensive based course. The focus of this course is for you to develop advanced skills in speed, accuracy, and overcoming tough circumstances. You should expect to do a lot of moving and shooting, using cover, and pushing your current skills to become more effective with your handgun.    

 

Semi-automatic handguns or revolvers may be used for this class.

 

  

What you will be taught:

 

• Ambidextrous shooting

• Single handed weapon manipulation

• Accurate rapid fire techniques

• Administrative reload/tactical reload/speed reload

• Drawing from the holster and weapon presentation

• Weapon malfunction drills

• Multiple target drills

• Defensive movement tactics

• Prone, supine, and other advanced shooting positions

• Use of cover and concealment

• Time emphasis on threat movement

• Threat identification 

• Mindset of violence

• Situational awareness

• Gear orientation

 

Required Gear List:

 

• Eye protection

• Ear Protection

• Magazines (3 or more) (speedloaders for revolvers)

• Waistband or drop-leg holster

• Magazine pouches (pouches must fit at least 2 magazines)

• 400 rounds of ammunition

• Notepad and pen

• Baseball style cap (optional)

• Pants

• Knee pads/elbow pads (optional)

 

*This class requires that you have a valid Drivers License and a PTP/PTC or a letter of good standing from your local LEO or a current Military ID card. All forms of identification must be current and matching information. This will need to be shown in person the morning of the class.*  

 

Note: We shoot regardless of weather conditions. Dress accordingly and bring any sunscreen, hydration packs, and gore tex gear you would like to have. If you have a medical condition, please send us an email to let us know.
